About Vekariya Parivar Trust
Vekariya Parivar Trust officially came into existence in 2004 with the noble vision of uniting the Vekariya community across Gujarat, India, and eventually the entire world. The idea of bringing together the Vekariya Parivar was conceived by Mr. Shivlal Vekariya, a two-term Member of Parliament representing Rajkot, during the period of 1990-2000.
Mr. Shivlal Vekariya is a pioneer of Kanya Kelvani (Girl Child Education) in Saurashtra, reflecting his dedication to social welfare. His vision of connecting the Vekariya Parivar materialized in 2002 through the extensive efforts of volunteers. They conducted extensive tours across villages, talukas, and cities to collect data about the Vekariya families.
By 2004, information about 2,600 families from Rajkot, Surat, and Kutch was meticulously gathered. This data was then made accessible online through the vekariyaparivar.org website in 2009. However, due to limited internet access in rural areas, the response remained minimal.
In 2015, the initiative was revitalized with a young, energetic team driven by passion and commitment to spreading information about the Vekariya Parivar across the country and the globe.
